In many ways, the launch of fall classes is a time when many parents consider getting into church. We need to get ready to reach these families, and we have to help our kids get ready too. Here’s a seasonal reminder for parents with some important tips for helping them prepare their families for the fall.
In each week’s Sunday School classes at Faith, all of your kids are learning about the same passage of Scripture in ways that are appropriate to their respective levels of development. The goal of this approach is to help parents engage all of their toddler and elementary-aged children in spiritual conversations about a common subject. To help you interact with you kids about these lesson, we’re providing you with some simple conversation starters, suggestions for family devotions, and ideas for helping your kids apply what they learned in Sunday School throughout the week. It’s published by Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA, where John MacArthur serves as pastor. What are you afraid of? What do you worry about? What are you trying to control? Don’t allow these things to rule your life. Instead, take a couple of steps to evict fear and worry from your mind in favor of more Christ-centered tenants.
This spring, we’re taking our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders through a series called Thinking Like Christ. Based on John Vandegriff’s helpful book In the Arena of the Mind, we’re encouraging students to recognize the sinful patterns of thinking that exist in their lives and to replace those patterns with the forms of thinking outlined in Philippians 4:8.
