ABF Series: Revelation Lesson 1

As we study the book of Revelation this blog series will help us prepare for our Sunday morning Adult Bible Fellowship discussions as well as review what was learned from the past week. Here are some guides to help you get the most out of the book of Revelation as well as the first lesson.

Book of Revelation

I would encourage everyone to read the Book of Revelation  in one sitting if possible. It will take you 48 minutes according to this website.   If you can’t do it in one sitting at least try to do it in a few large chunks.  Books of the bible like Revelation is best understood by reading in larger sections.

Also this is a handy article that includes some more bible reading tips. Listening to it on Audio bible is a great option. Here is one option, and here is another.

Sunday

So in preparation for the first lesson of Revelation please read the section listed below and think about the following discussion questions.

Revelation 1

  • As you read the book of Revelation consider what the purpose of this book is for those who read God’s word.
  • What words or phrases stand out to you in the first chapter?
  • Based on the opening lines and vivid imagery later in chapter 1, who is this book about?
  • How does Revelation 1:3 encourage you as you begin this study?

Pray that God’s living and active word would help us cultivate a greater love for Him and others as we study His word together.
