Faith Kids @ Home: January 13, 2013

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, January 13.  We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God’s Glory Fills the Temple

Passage:  1 Kings 8:1–9:9

Principle:  Christians must learn to depend on God’s faithfulness.

Praise:  “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High”

Prompt:  Ask your child these questions:

  • How was God faithful in today’s lesson?
  • What did God require from Israel and the king?

Practice:  Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By rejoicing that God is faithful.
  • By being faithful to obey God’s commands.

This Week:  As a family, read selected portions of 1 Kings 8:1–9:9.

Next Week:  1 Kings 11

Memory Verse:  Joshua 2:11
“And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.”
