Review
In our Adult Bible Fellowships we have observed the judgment of the Lord laid out in the book of Revelation. This past week we focused on God’s judgment being directed directly toward Babylon. Babylon as a system seems to remind us of rebellion aginst God…Rev 17 & 18 describing Babylon reminder us of the Babylonian kingdom, the tower of Babel as well as other rebellious kingdoms that resist honoring the creator and instead worship the creation and focus on self-pleasure.
It seems this Babylon is ultimately personified in a city during the tribulation. Although it is not perfectly clear what/where Babylon exactly is we did learn a few key facts.
Fact #1: We know that Babylon’s reign has come to a close
Fact #2: Babylon has a spiritual component
Fact #3: Babylon as a political or economic entity will come to an end.
We also learned there were two key implications to this…
Implication #1: God is slow in bringing judgment because he wants to give time for repentance and for the filling up of sin.
Implication #2: As long as the end has not come, there remains hope in the work of God.
God is redeeming and rescuing people in the midst of the tribulation and that should give us hope and also give us encouragement to share the gospel NOW knowing that God is at work even in the most challenging times.

So in preparation for the next lesson of Revelation please read the passage listed below and think about the following discussion questions.
- What do the elder’s rejoice over throughout Revelation? cf. Rev. 4:11, 5:14, 7:9-12, 19:4
- What are the challenges of rejoicing over the judgment of God? Why do we need to focus on God’s righteousness judgment?
- How does Christ’s marriage to the church influence your view of relationships?
- What do you take away from the focus on blessedness even in the midst of a focus on tribulation? cf. Rev 1:3, 14:13, 16:15, 19:9
Pray that God’s living and active word would help us cultivate a greater love for Him and heed the words of this portion of scripture. Rev 1:3
