DC trip highlights: The White House

Going to DC was an amazing experience for me. I loved every part of it, and it was hard to pinpoint something to write about. Some of the things I enjoyed the most were Gettysburg, the monuments and memorials, and especially the Holocaust Museum. However, I am going to be focusing on the White House tour.

Not many people can say that they got to go in the Presidents house. It was amazing to go into a house that has so much history in it. When we arrived, there were at least six check points before we could go in! It was cool to see all the pictures of our current and past presidents in the house. One of my favorite parts was seeing a painting of Abraham Lincoln sitting in a chair under a mantle. The picture was hung right above the mantle where it was painted. I then started to think of all the presidents and influential people that had lived and walked through the house. I was walking in the same house where they had been! Although we did not see him, we were pretty sure President Trump was in the house when we were there.

DC was an amazing experience of me. My favorite part of the whole trip was the Holocaust Museum. I would encourage all under class men to write the essay to apply for the trip. I cannot wait till I get to go there again.
