God gives each of us gifts to steward for His glory. Some people are good at speaking and teaching, some at serving and mentoring. Talents in art and music can be used greatly in serving the Lord, and there is such fulfillment in that pursuit!
1 Peter 4:10-11 says, “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” It is important that we as believers recognize the areas in which God has gifted us, and to actively use these gifts to bring glory to God and not to ourselves. We must remember that only He is worthy of all praise, and bringing His glory is our highest pursuit!
It is always so encouraging to see our residents use their gifts to glorify God. We have the privilege of seeing our ladies serve, connect with others, play instruments, sing, draw, and write to the glory of God, and we are so excited about that.
Sharing her talent for poetry, and prompted by our recent topic on Truth, one of our residents chose to bring glory to God by writing a poem for this blog. We hope you are moved to glorify God as you read:
Truth
Often we need hope
Often we need faith
Often we need patience
‘Cause sometimes we need to wait
But when it is the darkest
When things start to really shake
When it looks like Satan’s winning
And your faith just feels so fake
Lies take cover!
Hope take flight!
Faith recover!
Here comes the Light!
Truth wins the battle
Truth leads the fight
It shatters all the darkness
And gives faith brand new might
