Faithful Volunteers

Vision of Hope seeks to help many hurting young women. Our home can hold 26 young ladies, and we are often nearly or totally full. With so many young women in need, it is such a blessing to have many faithful volunteers serving us so well.

Our volunteers serve in many ways. From being a Daily Aid and helping to supervise the residents while working alongside our interns, to helping with secretarial needs or errand running, we simply could not function without these faithful servants.

There are many different ways to serve at Vision of Hope as a volunteer. Some enjoy working with the residents in a group setting, and some desire more one-on-one time as a mentor. Some of our volunteers bring special skills and knowledge to the table as well, and we love to see how we can incorporate other skills and talents into our volunteer opportunities.

Our volunteers learn from us, and we learn from them as well. Functioning in this way in the body of Christ continues to be a blessing every day, as we are able to connect with godly, faithful people in our ministry.

So thank you to all of our current volunteers! If you are not a volunteer and would like more information, contact Heather Starkweather at hstarkweather@faithlafayette.org or fill out a Volunteer Application at http://www.faithlafayette.org/voh/friends_of_voh/volunteer.

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ… Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be… Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” – 1 Corinthians 12:12, 15-18, 27

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
