A Light to the World

The Race for Hope is just a few short weeks away, and we are getting excited! One thing we are looking forward to with the Race for Hope is the opportunity to be a light in our community. Matthew 5:13-16 says, “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

At the Race for Hope, we have the opportunity to proclaim to our entire community that we know the Source of light! We have hope, and we want everyone to see the hope that is in us as a stark contrast to the darkness of the world. The goal is for this event to bring a message of such light and hope that people will see it and be prompted to consider the great God that we serve!

The Race for Hope is a great opportunity, and we want YOU to be a part of it! Here are a few ways:

First, you can pray for our ministry and the Race for Hope. Pray that through this event, we will have many opportunities to proclaim the Gospel!

Another way to be involved is to register as a participant in any of these three events. Please visit our race website to register. Each registration receives a sharp event t-shirt and a packet of goodies.

The next way you can help us with this community event is to volunteer. The commitment is only for one morning from 7 am to 10:30 or 11 am. There are a variety of ways to volunteer. Please visit our volunteer site if you’re interested in partnering with us in this way!

Finally, since this is one of our few fundraisers, you could help by sponsoring a runner on one of the teams on our  donation page. We ask each team captain to raise $1,000.00 in support and it would greatly bless them if you prayerfully considered contributing to their efforts.

Thank you for considering partnering with us in this exciting event!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
