Let’s Go, Boilers!

Let’s go Boilers, let’s go!  Vision of Hope staff, interns, volunteers, residents and graduates had a fun outing to a Purdue women’s basketball game on Sunday afternoon!  After lunch, we loaded up in a church van, graciously driving by a VOH grad, and headed across town to Purdue University’s campus.  We have enjoyed Purdue baseball, volleyball and soccer games all within the last year, but this was our first Boiler basketball game!  The bus ride itself was fun as the excitement built and we planned our sprinkler cheer for during the game.

We thoroughly enjoyed rooting for Purdue, listening to the fantastic pep band, watching the cheerleaders’ flips and tumbles, spending time with each other and even engaging in silly cheers!  Some of the residents made it their goal to get on the JumboTron, and there was much rejoicing when they made it!  We are thankful for the opportunity to build friendships, make fun memories and support a local team.

I began my internship at Vision of Hope in July 2013. I grew up as a missionary kid in The Gambia, West Africa and graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago last spring. I have a heart for women who are hurting, I desire to bring glory to God by helping them grieve and handle their suffering Biblically in a manner pleasing to the Lord. My life verse is Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” It is a joy and honor to serve and love the ladies of Vision of Hope.
