Safe in His Arms

Baby in the arms of a fatherThis week I’ve decided to share a worship song that I’ve been working on since before Christmas. I finally “finished” it a couple days ago. I say “finished” because I know I’ll probably still tweak it down the road. It’s based mainly out of the first half of Psalm 139, which is a mind-blowing and very comforting psalm. If you haven’t read through it recently, I’d encourage you to do so.

The lyrics to the song are below. And as usual, I’m not quite sure what to call it. Maybe you all can help me with that part.  The worship team will be singing it as a special this Sunday so hopefully our church family will begin to learn it.  I hope it’s an encouragement to your soul!

Verse 1
My Lord and Savior I run into Your arms
My only refuge and shelter from the storm
When life brings sorrow and trouble haunts my soul
You are my hope
You are my hope

Verse 2
O God of glory and lover of my soul
You are the morning; the light that brings the dawn
When storms are raging and tear apart the day
You are my stay
You are my stay

Chorus
We will glorify our Maker
The only risen Savior
The giver of the lives we seek to offer up to
Jesus, You’re the one who sees us
You captivate and bring us
Safe into your arms
Your ever-loving arms

Verse 3
King of Heaven and all the universe
Let Your sovereign voice be ever heard
Breaking the silence; shattering the night
You are the light
Bring us to life

Bridge:
Glory to our maker
Risen Savior, Giver of life
You alone can see us
Come and bring us
Safe into your arms
