What We Do: Lawn Care

There are many opportunities our residents are able to have while in the Vision of Hope program. Just like real life, everyone is held responsible to clean up after themselves and aid in the upkeep of the home and lawn. This ends up being a great learning opportunity for our ladies, both practically but also spiritually learning to be good stewards of their living places.

One thing our ladies are involved in is lawn care. Throughout the spring and summer months, our ladies participate in various lawn care activities such as weeding, mowing, and trimming. Many ladies come to us without any lawn care experience, and it is always exciting to teach them these new and practical skills so that when they leave Vision of Hope they will be equipped to take care of their own domain as well as live in freedom from life-dominating problems.

Lawn care is often the most looked-forward-to time of week for our ladies, as they are able to work together in the sunshine to help make our grounds beautiful.

God cares about how we steward out living places. May we all seek to glorify Him by reflecting who He is and being good stewards.

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
