What We Do: Intern Training Part 1

Vision of Hope offers a one-year internship program to women with interest in the social services. Our interns come to work with us for a year to receive great training and learn more about Biblical Counseling. There are a lot of opportunities our interns have to receive great training, and we would like to share some of those with you today!

Did you know that our interns live in the Vision of Hope home? We have a separate section of our home that is built as an apartment for them. They have their own kitchen and living room area, laundry room, and 2 full bathrooms. The fact that they are living in the VOH home is not only convenient, but also provides great training opportunities. In each resident room, there is an in-house telephone that they can use to contact the on-call intern at night if they need assistance. Our interns are on a rotating schedule of night-shifts where they will sleep in their rooms as usual but will respond when a resident calls for help. This provides a great opportunity for our interns to learn how to give biblical comfort, truth, and love to a hurting young woman even when it is difficult.

Our interns are sacrificial, joyful servants, and we are thrilled to watch each of them grow and mature during their time with us.

Stay tuned to learn more about the training our interns receive during their year at VOH!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
