Race for Hope: Across the Miles Part 2

It is amazing to see how God sends His message of the gospel throughout the world to touch many souls. Hearing how He is working in other countries is always an encouragement and a reminder of His great faithfulness!

One of our graduates came to us from England. Since graduating, she has returned home, and she performed her own “Race for Hope” in her country to support Vision of Hope! Here’s what she has to say about how God used this event in her life this year:

“I have just ran my race for hope race this year over 7 mountains in Snowdonia! I was doing it solo, but had a support vehicle ‘the yellow perril’ (a big yellow converted church bus) with a friend with a radio where I would check in with him at every check point. It was an epic journey and finished it in 4hours 41mins. Throughout the adventure, I was reflecting in how this physical challenge was so similar to the challenge of VOH, and I praised God how much I have been redeemed in this area of my life. I never thought I could do something like this with a clear conscience and have The Lord bless it so obviously! I can’t believe how He has given me one of the desires of my heart and just allowed me to do something I love for a ministry so dear and precious to my heart. He knows how to bless and give good gifts to His children. I thought I could be a mountain runner in heaven but He has allowed me to do it here on earth!!!!”

Her race for hope in the U.K. paralleled her journey at VOH and is an awesome testimony of God’s redemptive grace! There were moments of doubt, struggle, and obstacles to overcome yet because of God and her focus upon His loving character and goodness, she was able to persevere. Praise His Name!

We are grateful to this graduate for sharing and for continuing to be a supporter of VOH here in the States!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
