Faith Kids @ Home: May 19, 2013

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, May 19.  We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God Uses Nehemiah to Rebuild Jerusalem’s Wall

Passage:  Nehemiah 1:1–4:23; 6:15–16

Principle:  Believers must depend on God’s strength to do God’s will.

Praise:  “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”

Prompt:  Ask your child these questions:

  • How did Nehemiah depend on God?
  • How did God accomplish His plan to rebuild the wall?

Practice:  Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By depending on God’s strength to do God’s will.
  • By praising God for the blessing of being used by Him.

This Week:  As a family, read selected portions of Nehemiah 1:1–4:23, 6:15–16.

Next Week:  Nehemiah 8–10

Memory Verse:  Psalm 18:2
“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold”
