Meet Katie!

Katie McNulty (on the right in the above photo) came to Vision of Hope in July 2015. She has been a faithful servant at VOH ever since then, willing to jump in to help wherever needed.  Her contagious smile always conveys her joy in the Lord, the rest that she finds in Him, and the loves He has poured into her heart. Beginning in June, Bethany is leaving her position as a VOH secretary in anticipation of her son’s birth.  As Bethany transitions out, Katie has stepped in as a secretary here.  She has been shadowing our current secretaries weekly for months now, but has now taken on full secretary duties.

I asked Katie a few questions so that our blog readers can hear from our newest secretary!

How have you been serving at Vision of Hope over the past couple years?

I have served at Vision of Hope over the past few years through being an intern and weekend staff. Through the internship I got the chance to serve the residents by walking them through the daily schedule, leading them in different activities, and pointing them back to what they were learning in counseling when they were struggling.

How have those experiences prepared you to be our new secretary?

Being an intern you learn a lot about the Vision of Hope program. I got to hear counselors help the ladies that enter the program, and see the other staff members give hope and speak the truth in love to the residents. I learned from the staff members and asked them lots of questions. On top of that, I got to see the other secretaries in action and learn from how they served at the secretary desk.

What are you excited about as you step into this new position at Vision of Hope?

I am looking forward to talking to people who call and being able to offer them hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ and encouraging them to apply to the program. I am excited to spend more time in the Vision of Hope house and serve the ladies and staff by being there to help at the secretary desk.

If you could pick the song people would listen to when you have to ask them to hold during a phone call, what song would you pick?

Though we will miss Bethany, we celebrate her opportunity to minister at home to her husband and soon-to-be-born son. We are also rejoicing that Katie will be here in a new capacity as our secretary.  We are thankful for the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness displayed in the lives of both of these women!
