What We Do: Game Nights

I have the fun responsibility of planning our Friday night Girls’ Night Activities (GNAs). Each Friday night we do a different fun activity, sometimes at Vision of Hope or on Faith Church’s campus, sometimes somewhere out in the community. Recently we have had lots of opportunities to attend different game nights for our GNAs.

Faith’s senior living community is always so welcoming when we make the short walk around the community pond to their clubhouse. Many of the senior residents faithfully volunteer at Vision of Hope, so we are already regularly building relationships with them.  Game nights at the senior living clubhouse are great times of laughter and friendly competition as we spend the evening together and deepen our friendships with each other. Apples to Apples: Bible Edition seems to be a favorite game when we go, and works well with any size of group.

A dear lady from our church recently invited us over to her apartment complex to play games with her and some of her apartment neighbors. Many of us learned the dice game Farkle, others played skip-bo, and Wii bowling was a big hit! Besides enjoying new games, we were able to reach out in a small way by meeting some men and women from outside our church.  We already have an invitation to return there next month for another GNA to play more games and continue building relationships with these new friends! We are so blessed by the many invitations we receive to attend game nights and serve as ambassadors for the Lord!
