Ministry in the Dominican Republic

This year’s theme for Faith Church is Loving our World, and we are so privileged to partner with believers around the world this week as some of our staff members are oversees!

James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” This week, some of our staff members and their spouces are in the Dominican Republic to help spread the message of the Gospel with fellow believers in an orphanage. Our residents have been busy at work these days making jewelry and decorations for this trip, and we are so excited for this opportunity!

Would you join us in prayer this week for our team in the DR? Here are some things you can be praying for:

  • Pray for the effectiveness of the Vacation Bible School ministries to these precious orphans. How amazing to think that many boys and girls could begin a personal relationship with the Lord this week as a result of this ministry opportunity!
  • Pray for interactions with adults during this trip as well; that those who do not know the Lord will also hear the message of the Gospel and realize their need of a Savior.
  • Pray for the health and safety of our team as they minister throughout this week and travel back to the US.

We cannot wait to hear how this trip goes, and how the Lord will welcome more into His Kingdom as a result!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
