Faith Church Member Covenant: Disciple – Making

We are so thankful for Faith Church and the passion our church leaders have for helping others to grow in their relationship with Christ! As a Faith Church member, you are held accountable to live for the Lord and grow in Him. Biblical standards and accountability are something to be excited about at Faith Church!

Looking at the Faith Church Membership Covenant, let’s highlight our next point:

I also purpose to maintain family and private devotions; to train my children according to the Word of God; to seek the salvation of my relatives, friends, neighbors and acquaintances; to walk carefully and cautiously in the world; to be just in my dealings, faithful in my engagements, and exemplary in my conduct; to avoid all gossip, backbiting, and unrighteous anger; to abstain from all forms of activity that dishonor our Lord Jesus Christ, cause stumbling to a fellow believer, or hinder the winning of a soul to Christ; to be zealous in my efforts to advance the cause of Christ, and to give Him preeminence in all things.

The point we will focus on today is the desire to seek the salvation of others.

Jesus lamented that “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2) He also commands His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Acts 28:19). God desires to use believers as instruments to spread the saving message of the gospel!

At Vision of Hope, we desire that every young lady who comes to us does not leave without a solid assurance that they are either true believers, or not. (Rom. 10:9-10) Being of foremost importance, we often begin our counseling process with the topic of salvation. Many ladies come with doubts and fear that they are not “saved,” or even come questioning if Jesus truly is Lord. Our staff team is always excited to share the gospel and the fact that everyone can know for sure if they are a true child of God based on His Word! The most joyous thing we see here at VOH is when a young lady finally makes the decision to trust in Christ for her salvation and to place Him as Lord of her life! In these times, we rejoice that not only has one more disciple been made that day, but also another disciple-maker! As a young lady works through her difficult issues and experiences victory, she is then at a place where she, too, can focus on telling others about the abundant life Christ bought for us on the cross, and can be an instrument in growing the body of Christ!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
