Moments of Grace: Part 6

One amazing aspect of God’s grace is that we can share it with with others! God calls us to be reflections of His character, so that when others look at us they are prompted to think, “Wow! What an amazing God!” 2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

It is our goal and privilege at Vision of Hope to clearly display God’s grace to others, and this can only be accomplished because of the grace He has shown each of us. Each of the staff members and interns at VOH are sinners in need of a huge helping of God’s grace, and He has very generously supplied! We are excited that God has given us so much grace that it spills over into the lives of others.

This week, I asked some of our residents to share how they have recently seen God’s grace in their lives. Here’s what one young lady shared:

To use a quote from Milton Vincent’s A Gospel Primer here is how I am beginning to see more of His grace in my life: ‘On my worst days of sin and failure, the gospel encourages me with God’s UNRELENTING grace toward me.’ One way God has lavished His grace on me is through the staff here at VOH who patiently and willingly accepted me back into the program without judgment or condemnation, after I experienced a heavy setback. As I humbly turn from the sinful path I chose, I am starting to see God’s grace in deeper and sweeter ways. Hebrews 13:9 says that ‘it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace.‘ I pray that as I see His grace more accurately, He will strengthen my heart and use my life to reflect Him as I pour grace out on others. I am so thankful to God, that His grace is DEEPER than the stain of my sin. Romans 5:26 – ‘but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.’”

Wow – how amazing is our God, that He supplies believers with enough grace to then share with others (II Cor. 1:3-5)! We will be sharing more instances of grace from our residents in the weeks to come, so get ready to be encouraged!

Bethany Dunn
Bethany heard about Vision of Hope while attending Word of Life Bible Institute in Florida. When she began praying about what God wanted her to do after graduating, He kept bringing Vision of Hope to her mind. Knowing that there was an internship available, Bethany applied, was accepted, and began her internship with VOH in July, 2012. Since then she has been amazed at the opportunities God has given her to learn more about His Word and how it applies to everyday life. Bethany now serves on staff at Vision of Hope.
