Something UNIQUE to this year’s Race for Hope event is that we have a group of avid supporters of Vision of Hope leaving TODAY for Israel! This group is going to be touring Israel for the next week or so and will NOT be here in Lafayette for our event. HOWEVER, that is not stopping them from walking in Israel and in a very historic spot in Israel at that!
Here is the really cool part. On June 14th when RFH 2014 takes place, this group will be walking in and around Jericho! They plan to walk as participants overseas with us but in Jericho.
If you are not familiar with Jericho in the Bible, read about it in Joshua 6. Hebrews 11:30 says summarizes the event and applies it to our faith: By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. Let’s hope our Faith Church members touring Israel walk a 5K around Jericho without any walls falling down this time because we don’t want them to cause a stir over there!
Seriously, we are very grateful to the Lord for allowing this group to go to Israel and ask you to pray for them on this special trip!
