Nicotine and Alcohol Abuse Decreases Intelligence

One of my (Pastor Mark Shaw) favorite authors is Dr. Charles Hodges, Jr. posted a great blog about recent research that demonstrates how nicotine and alcohol abuse lead to thinking impairment.

It’s really sad to read yet I’m grateful for the truth of science that backs up the Bible in Ephesians 5:18: “And do not be drunk with wine, for that is debauchery…”

Debauchery means “utter ruin.” If you lose your ability to think, you will be utterly ruined.

So once again, we see that science demonstrates the Bible is true. Christ-followers knew the Word was true already without the help of science and with the help of the Holy Spirit.
