A Word from Your Faith Bible Seminary Team: As seminary students, pastors, biblical counselors, and lay leaders, we all love books! But we can’t buy every book—even though we may want to. So, our VP/Academic Dean, Dr. Bob Kellemen, produces an annual list of his top biblical counseling books. He recently posted a compilation of 8 years of top book lists at his RPM Ministries Truth & Love website here. With his permission, we’re reposting his blog for our FBS audience. Enjoy!
Top Biblical Counseling Books (Selected/Collated/Annotated by Dr. Kellemen)
Every year since 2012, I’ve collated a list of top/most important biblical counseling books. Several people asked me to collate those lists…and here you go. If my math is correct, you have links to posts about the 137 Most Important Biblical Counseling Books: 2012-2019.
I’ve selected these books on the basis of their:
- Biblical depth
- Relevance to life
- Practicality for one-another ministry
- Faithfulness to the sufficiency of Scripture
- Application to progressive sanctification
- And by accepting nominations from biblical counseling leaders.
These are books either written by a biblical counselor, or about Christian living, or important to biblical counselors.
