Congratulations to all instrumental and vocal students who participated in the recent ISSMA Solo/Ensemble Festivals at Harrison High.
All 5-12 Grade Band students were required to participate in an ensemble of 3 or more. Optional Solo opportunities included Wind, String, Percussion, Voice and Piano. FCS entered 21 Instrumental Ensembles and 18 Instrumental, Piano, and voice soloists. Students had to prepare a selected musical number and perform for a judge who would evaluate their performance in light of the “group” (level) in which the student or ensemble registered to participate e.g. I, II, III, IV, V. “I” being the hardest, and “V” the easiest. Once receiving a “gold” rating, students are encouraged to move to the next highest level the following year. Overall, FCS Students earned a collective 30 Gold and 9 Silver Ratings in their respective categories. Congratulations on all your hard work.
