FCS Middle School Updates

Things are off to a great start in the Middle School. Our 8th graders came together before the school year started for a Leadership Retreat where we spent time learning about how to lead well as the “seniors of the middle school.” They are excited to get to know the 6th and 7th graders in their groups and help build relationships across grades in the Middle School.

Continuing our focus on relationships this year, the Middle School teachers had the opportunity to build relationships with parents at the annual Dessert Night on August 22. There was a good turnout of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents who were able to make connections with other parents. The Dessert Night is a key part of a larger initiative to build community in the Middle School while giving parents opportunities throughout the year to get questions answered and share experiences.

We are excited to offer a “Social Media & Your Teen” night in October and a “Game Night” in the spring to continue these relationships between parents and teachers. We look forward to seeing parents again at Parent-Teacher Conferences on September 16 and 17.
