I’m so grateful for our long-term partnership with Bill and Naty Tully. They live in Bucharest, Romania where Bill is the pastor of an international church. They also partner with us in ministry in Moldova. It was a joy and an honor last week to teach biblical counseling alongside Bill to a group of committed pastors and church leaders in Moldova.
In 2005, they introduced us to Moldova. We are now focused on training a small group of pastors and leaders who are serious about learning how to use the sufficient word of God to help themselves and others to grow in Christ-likeness.
The people were amazingly attentive and patient as we taught all day long through an interpreter. About half those in attendance understood both languages so they heard the teaching twice. This group understood the need to apply the biblical principles to their own lives first and they had lots of questions about how to live out the biblical principles and then how to help others.
Their questions dealt with tough issues like how to counsel an abusive father in a culture where physical abuse is commonplace and accepted by society, or how to help young women who have just been rescued from human trafficking situations too horrendous to write about here. The problems they shared were often heart-breaking, but I was thankful God’s word has answers to all the issues of life!
I was also challenged by their compassion for others, their desire to share God’s word to reach and equip people to serve the true and living God. Those men and women have the potential to have a tremendous impact on the church in Moldova and we count it a privilege to partner with them in the ministry of the gospel.
