Faith Kids @ Home: November 18, 2012

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, November 18.  We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God Judges between David and Saul

Passage:  1 Samuel 24

Principle:  God’s Word is the standard of right and wrong.

Praise:  “Undivided Heart”

Prompt:  Ask your child these questions:

  • Why didn’t David kill Saul when he had the opportunity?
  • What was the difference between Saul’s reaction and David’s reaction to God’s commands?

Practice:  Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By trusting Scripture over the advice of other people.
  • By obeying Scripture.

This Week:  As a family, read selected portions of 1 Samuel 24.

Next Week:  2 Samuel 1:1–2:4a

Memory Verse:  Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
