Faith Kids @ Home: November 15, 2015

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, November 15. We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God Shows Mercy to Jonah and Nineveh

Passage: Jonah 1–4

Principle: God is gracious and compassionate.

Praise: “Humble Thyself in the Sight of the Lord”

Prompt: Ask your child these questions:

  • Why did Jonah not want to preach to Nineveh?
  • How was God merciful to Jonah and Nineveh?

Practice: Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By thanking God for being merciful to sinners.
  • By asking God to use you to show His mercy to others.

This Week: As a family, read selected portions of Jonah 1–4.

Next Week: Daniel 2

Memory Verse: “I know that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness” Jonah 4:2b

*Preschool verse in bold print
