Faith Kids @ Home: March 12, 2023

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, March 12. We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God Shows Mercy to Jonah and Nineveh

Read: Jonah 1-4

Ask your child:

  • Why didn’t Jonah want to preach to Nineveh? Jonah didn’t want God to show the Ninevites mercy.
  • How was God merciful to Jonah and Nineveh? God gave both the opportunity to repent.

Emphasize this principle: God is merciful. Therefore, we should repent and share God’s mercy with others.

Practice:

  • Thank God for being merciful to sinners.
  • Ask God to use you to show mercy to others.

Sing: “Humble Thyself in the Sight of the Lord”

Prepare for next week: Daniel 3

Memorize for Feb 12-Mar 12: “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)*
