Faith Kids @ Home : June 27 , 2021

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, June 27. We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

Jesus Defines Discipleship

Read: Matthew 16:13-17, 20-27

Ask your child:

  • What did the Father reveal to Peter? “Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.”
  • What does it mean to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Christ? Christians must crucify sinful desires and choose to please God.

Emphasize this principle: Jesus rewards faithful choices. Therefore, we should deny ourselves and follow Him.

Practice:

  • Say “no” to sinful desires, and choose to please God instead.
  • Rejoice that Jesus will reward those who faithfully follow Him.

Praise: “Change My Heart, O God”

Prepare for next week: Matthew 25:14-30

Memorize for June 6-27: “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

Isaiah 59:2*
