Faith Kids @ Home: February 17, 2013

The following lesson was taught in our children’s Sunday School classes on Sunday, February 17.  We would encourage you to use the ideas below to review Sunday’s lesson with your family.

God Punishes Judah

Passage:  2 Kings 21–25

Principle:  God hates and punishes all sin.

Praise:  “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord”

Prompt:  Ask your child these questions:

  • Why did God punish Judah?
  • What did God promise would happen after Israel repented?

Practice:  Help your child apply these truths in the following ways:

  • By hating sin as God does.
  • By repenting from sin and asking God for forgiveness.

This Week:  As a family, read selected portions of 2 Kings 21–25.

Next Week:  Jonah 1–4

Memory Verse:  2 Kings 23:27
“And the LORD said, ‘I will also remove Judah from My sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, “My name shall be there.”’”
