Running the Hardwood at Faith Community Center

The dream plays through the mind of countless basketball players around the world.  You have the ball in your hands at the end of the biggest game of your life.  Your team desperately needs for you to carry them through to victory.  As you catch the ball from the in-bounds pass you begin to look over the court, searching for open teammates, watching out for defensive traps, and finding the best path to a perfect shot.

You put the ball on the floor and hear the solid thud as the leather strikes the wood floor, you feel the seams as the ball spins gently against your hand and then you start running.  You come in front of a defender but a quick dribble through your legs and around him you go.  The clock hits 3, 2, and you pull up to launch a high-arching shot that hovers in the air for what seems like an eternity.  As the clock hits 1 and the buzzer rings, you watch the ball snap through the net.  You jump in the air, pumping your fist as the fans go crazy.

Wake Up!

For many of us the only opportunity we will have to carry our team to victory is to do it during pick-up games.  So we seek to always find the best competition in the best location to play the best games we can.  For many this leads to the frustration of playing on courts where you are not welcome, in conditions that are not favorable, with a rough surface.

Where is there a great place to play where all are welcome, with great conditions, and perfect playing surface?

Faith Community Center Offers the Best Basketball in Lafayette

Indoor Courts

Faith Community Center offers a great facility for working on your game or for testing your skills in a pick-up game.  We have three wonderful courts for playing on.  All three courts have top of the line hoops and backboards and nets that give the perfect snap after a great shot.

You do not have to worry about the sun getting in your eyes as you pull up for a jumper because the courts are all indoors.  Speaking of the sun there is no need to have extra sweat from the hot summer days when you can play in a wonderful, climate controlled facility.

Good Competition

On a regular basis you can find a wide mix of talent on the courts of the Community Center.  There are players who have never played organized ball, current and former high school stars, players who have college experience and the occasional player who has played professionally.  No matter who is out there you can find a good, action-filled game.

Family Friendly Facility

One of the best features of playing basketball at the Faith Community Center is the opportunity to bring your family to a safe environment to watch you play are to get some pointers from you.  There is the opportunity for your family to enjoy a snack from the snack shop, swim together in the swimming pool, learn how to skateboard on the skate park, try your hand at Frisbee golf, or even bring your fishing equipment and catch some fish.

Check out our Adult Basketball Leagues as well as Monday Night Basketball for some great times to play, or call the community center to see if the gyms are open for a pickup game.

The ball is in your court, when will we see you on our courts.
