Now that the Dirt is Flying at Faith West

By God’s grace work has begun at 1920 Northwestern Avenue in West Lafayette.  The construction phase of Faith West is now underway.  Here are a number of ways you can participate in this exciting part of the process.

Pray for the construction workers.

Hundreds of men and women will be involved in building Faith West.  Although our general contractor will do everything possible to create a safe jobsite, we still recognize that these individuals will still be working in potentially difficult and dangerous situations.  Let’s pray daily for their safety.

Remember also that these construction workers are first and foremost individual people who have families, marriages, challenges, and struggles just like the rest of us.  Pray for opportunities to serve them and share the love of Christ.  We have often been able to have redemptive conversations with men and women who were working on one of our building projects.  In fact, our first contact with some of our church’s current members was when they were working here.

Pray for our neighbors at 1920 NW Avenue.

The Lord has already given us budding friendships with several individuals and families who live right around the future home of Faith West.  For this we are deeply grateful.  Let’s pray that we are sensitive to their needs and concerns as they have an active jobsite right outside their backdoors for the next year.

We plan to hold informational tours for our neighbors over the course of the next year as the building rises up out of the ground.  These can be marvelous opportunities to solidify relationships that have already begun.

Plan to serve on a clean-up crew.

Ken Sherwin, one of our faithful church members, lives very near Faith West.  He has volunteered to organize and lead weekly clean-up crews at the jobsite each Saturday.  We want the site to look clean and neat for our neighbors and those driving by on NW Avenue.  Contact the church office if you would like to serve in this way.

Begin praying about future serving opportunities.

Literally hundreds of new serving opportunities will be available a year from now when Faith West opens.  How might the Lord want you to serve in the coming days?  We will be looking for people to lead community sports leagues, folks to serve in our biblical counseling center, volunteers to work at the front desk, men and women to lead Bible studies and prayer groups for college students.  We’ll also be starting a new church service at Faith West. We’ll need the same type of servants there as we have here now at our SR 26 campus each Sunday. We anticipate that some of our members will want to begin attending Faith West for their regular worship time. Begin praying now about how God might want to use you in the days ahead.

Thank the Lord for what He is allowing us to do together.

Please be sure to use this thrilling time in our church’s history to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving for what He is allowing us to do together.  Our church family has been blessed beyond belief.  Let’s allow Faith West to draw us closer to one another and to Christ as we celebrate this milestone together.
