Faith Ministries Update in Relation to the COVID-19 Virus

Dear Faith family,

We are very committed to ministering to each person in our church family and community during these days. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concern or need you might have. Our pastors and deacons would be happy to come and pray with you at your home or serve you practically in any way you desire.

Please be praying especially for our government officials and healthcare workers during these days. They are carrying heavy loads as they serve us sacrificially to keep as many people as possible healthy and safe.

Given the guidance that our local, state, and national governments have provided up to now, below are some preliminary decisions regarding ministries at Faith during the time period from March 15–31. As government guidance is refined and updated, we will continue to update you on any changes that might bring.

Ministries Encouraged to Continue

Please feel free to continue meeting in your small groups.

Also be ready to come out in appropriate numbers and ways to serve our community as needed. We have communicated with our mayors and county commissioners that our church family stands ready to serve in any way we are needed. Please stay tuned as we identify ways we can show the love of Jesus to our friends and neighbors during this time.

Ministries Temporarily Canceled Through the End of March

  • Sunday Church Services (March 15, 22, 31):

Again, assuming that our local, state, and national governments continue in their guidance they have provided, on Sunday March 15, 22, and 31 we will offer online worship services in place of our regular church ministries. This is a temporary change that will impact all our Sunday ministries–children’s ministries, student ministries, ABFs, etc. at all three of our campuses. To learn more about this decision and the way we would encourage you to steward this unusual season of ministry, we would invite you to view Pastor Viars’ recent video.

Many have already asked about how the church will continue to meet its financial obligations, especially to our missionaries, during this challenging season. In the past when we had snow emergencies or other times when church services were canceled, our members simply continued to give on-line, or through direct withdrawals from their banks, or by sending their tithes and offerings in the mail. You may continue supporting the financial obligations of Faith Church by giving online at this link. Or mail in checks to

  • Wednesday Night Ministries (March 18 & 25)

All Wednesday night children and adult ministries are canceled including, FCI, Kids of Faith, Introduction to Faith classes.

  • Men of Faith (March 21)
  • FBCM Monday Counseling and Training (March 16, 23, 30)
  • Caleb’s Kin Activity (March 18) and Fellowship (April 7)
  • Faith Christian School and Preschool Plans

In coordination with Tippecanoe County Health officials and local school administrations, Faith Christian School will close school, and all school related activities, beginning on Monday, March 16 thru Friday, April 3.  FCS will make another announcement on Wednesday, April 1st regarding any plans on resumption of face-to-face teaching.

All academic preschool classes (Faith East/West) will also be closed for morning and afternoon academics. We will, however, remain open for those families that are not able to obtain alternate childcare. If the health department were to ask us to re-evaluate this at any point, we of course, would need to reconsider this decision. Therefore, we are planning to take this one week at a time and ask that all of our families consider establishing a back-up childcare plan in the event that we would be asked to close completely.

Open and/or Adjusted Ministries

  • Faith Community Centers (East, West, and North)

The community centers will remain open. However, two main services will be impacted at our centers. First, Fitness Day Care will be closed until further notice. Second, the Play Space and Oasis Park will also be closed for now. Please continue to check our website for updates on any other services being effected. Fitness members as well as regular patrons are still welcome to utilize the building and facilities. For those who volunteer at the various community centers, please reach out to your primary contact about the advisability of serving.

  • Faith Community Center Infant Care

Faith Community Center Infant Care will be open during normal hours. Please expect tighter stipulations on receiving children into infant care.

Please be reminded that God’s Word is filled with soul-satisfying truth to guide us through times like these. For example,

  • Psalm 91:1–2 – He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”
  • Philippians 4:6–7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Also, consider using a Bible concordance or software to locate and study uses of words like “trust,” “fear,” “worry,” and “afraid” in the Word of God. Trials can draw us closer to the Lord if we allow them to.

The following books and pamphlets from our Resource Center may also be helpful to you:

  1. Worry by David Powlison – http://bit.ly/2W6nEzp
  2. Living in a Dangerous World by William P. Smith – http://bit.ly/2TUJ3Ju
  3. Anxiety: Knowing God’s Peace by Paul Tautges – http://bit.ly/2xphMHi
  4. Why Worry? By Robert D. Jones – http://bit.ly/3aMVptK

We started the year by committing ourselves to Celebrating God’s Truth. Who would have guessed we would have such a marvelous opportunity to put those words into action? Please ask the Lord to give us the strength to grow in our love for Him and others. We are very glad you are part of our church family.

In Christ,
