In our Adult Bible Fellowships this past week we learned that helping others is about seeing needs and assets. In John chapter 9 we see Jesus had a pattern of seeing needs, having compassion, and taking action.

  1. Jesus saw needs around Him during the normal course of life
  2. Jesus felt compassion when he saw a need
  3. Jesus followed up his compassion with action

In preparation for our lesson on Sunday please read the section listed above and observe what stands out to you in the narrative.

Also, please think about the following discussion questions:

  1.  When is helping others more about us than about them?
  2. What could be some indications that show us we are helping with a focus on ourselves?
  3. How do we see Christ meeting the Samaritan woman at the well on her terms?
