We are looking forward to welcoming brand new interns this January! Our interns are faithful servants who come to work with our ministry for a year and receive training and experience in Biblical Counseling. Our staff team cannot express how much of a blessing our interns are to us and to our residents, as they work hands-on with the residents and play a huge part in helping those in need.
It is always encouraging to follow up with our former interns and see where God has been leading them and working in their lives after they completed their internship with us. Hearing how their internship experience and training still impacts their lives is exciting and prompts us to praise our Lord for never ceasing to work in the lives of His people!
For the next couple of weeks, we will be checking in with some of our former interns, so that you can praise our Lord together with us! Today, we will follow up with Sarah! Sarah came to us in July 2012 from Noblesville, Indiana. During her time with us, she has blessed us and continues to bless us with her fun, relaxed personality and is a wonderful reflection of God’s grace and mercy. Let’s hear how God has been working in her life!
What was something (or things) you learned during the VOH internship? How is this helping you now?
“Through the VOH internship I learned many things. About myself, I learned that I really do feel called and equipped to serve those who are hurting. I learned a lot about man’s depravity and God’s grace. I learned more about biblical counseling and that it was something I could actually do and wanted to become better at. I learned how God can work through the body of Christ and what it looks like for a church to model incarnational ministry in various ways (Faith Church taught me a lot about that). Also, through forming many precious relationships, I learned more about the diversity of God’s children and how He uses all things to his glory.”
What are you doing now?
“Currently, I am working as a florist in Noblesville, IN while working on getting my certification as a Biblical counselor through ACBC. I volunteer counsel at VOH as well as Life Centers in Westfield, IN.”
What is one thing you want others to know about the VOH internship?
“I want others to know that if they are considering a VOH internship that it will be both a huge challenge and a huge blessing. I want those who support VOH to know that supporters are a blessing not only to the residents whose lives are being changed by God’s power but also to the interns who get a front row seat to see and experience God’s love working though His word and through His people.”
How awesome is our Lord, that He would continue to work in Sarah’s life to use her in helping those in need. Thank you for sharing, Sarah, and for your continued faithful service to VOH!
