Race for Hope

2012 Race for Hope-016-LThis is a great time of year: flowers are starting to bloom, everyone is getting out and about more, new high school and college graduates prepare for the next chapter in life, and so much more!

At Vision of Hope, we are preparing for our biggest fundraising event of the year: RACE for HOPE (RFH) on Saturday, June 14th at 8 am. This year, RFH is like 3 events in one: a certified 10K run, timed 5K run, and a 5K walk to encourage more participants. Teams like the one depicted above dress up and show team spirit with make-up and silly outfits!

Some of the extras this year are the “Race Reunion” on Friday, June 13th from 6-8 pm featuring the band, FORGIVEN STILL, with guest speaker, Jocelyn Wallace, former executive director! This is going to be a great time of praise and celebration of what Christ is doing at Vision of Hope.

Help us promote the event on Twitter by hashtagging #RFH2014 and on Facebook by liking our page.

A lot of work goes into this event and it is worth it to see so many people rallying behind the ministry to enable us to do what we are doing: watching God transform lives!

Join a team or join MY team (Pastor Shaw’s Transformers) at https://www.faithlafayette.org/raceforhope/donate/form?runner=140102320 If you join my team, we are dressing up like our favorite Super Hero on Race Day! Pick a Transformer robot, Superman, Wonderwoman, Batman, Spiderman, Captain America, or whoever you want to be! Just be there and get into the fun on June 14th at 8 am.

-Pastor Shaw (eager to see everyone again at our Reunion and Race!)
