Why Send Your Child to Faith’s Vacation Bible School?

Although I have not conducted a formal survey in my thirteen years of overseeing our Vacation Bible School ministry, I have heard many reasons why people send their children to VBS.  Here are four of those reasons:

1.       It’s FREE, reliable child-care for 2 ½ hours.

Actually, it costs our church around $7,000 to make this week happen, but we love making it free for all children (3 and potty trained) through 5th grade.  Our church goes to great lengths to ensure safe, reliable volunteer staff that have completed a background check and been approved to work in VBS.  The staff will love your children compassionately, unconditionally, and appropriately to provide them with excellent care.

2.       My kids love it – They have a blast!

Kids love to have fun.  Surprise! Surprise!  VBS provides a wide variety of great activity, learning, food, crafts, and team challenge to stimulate your children toward God-honoring living while in a fun and safe environment.

3.       I want my kids to learn about God.

We clearly teach the Bible and the life transforming message of the Gospel – That God sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, into the World to live a perfect and sinless life  in order to then die on the cross to have his blood pay the penalty for sin.  Those who place their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone for their salvation are given new life in Christ and receive eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Acts 4:12; 16:31).

4.       It changed my life.

I run across individuals of all ages every year that say something like “God used VBS to change my life“, or “I trusted Christ as my Savior at VBS when I was a child”.  That’s awesome!

For many, VBS is a great way to invite neighbor kids and friends to hear about Jesus while also having a fun time.  VBS also provides a valued spiritual boost for kids and families during the summer months.

If you have children within the ages of our VBS and you live within driving distance, we hope you will bring your child or children to join us for VBS 2012.
