Worth Remembering: Saved From Hell

This Easter, believers world wide will celebrate the risen Lord, Jesus Christ.  For me personally, I know I don’t celebrate like I should because I don’t fully grasp the reality from which I was “saved.”

Today, the debate about the nature and existence of Hell has been  kindled anew among professing believers with the new book released by Rob Bell (pastor of Mars Hill in Grand Rapids) called Love Wins.  Pastor Rob Bell has been interviewed and blog posts have been written to challenge him.

I hope you will take the time to firm up what you understand the Bible to say about this important matter.   Below I provide a post from Pastor James McDonald’s blog that contains a recent sermon about Hell.  Pastor James is a friend of Faith Baptist Church.  Two of our former pastors (Pastor Doug Helmer and Pastor Doug Gray) and one former seminary intern (Pastor Joshua Knipp) are involved in planting churches for Harvest Bible Chapel.

Pastor James’s sermon is crystal clear and stirring.  Even if you can’t watch it all, I would challenge you to consider this Easter what you are saved from.  Spend some time with your family and friends watching this before you watch the Passion or go to an Easter drama presentation of Christ’s Passion.  Then if you have any questions about where you will spend eternity, please contact us (765-448-1986 or fbc@fbclafayette.org).
