Remaining Strong in Christ

Tall treeI enjoy seeing a big tree; it is a picture of strength.  As you look up, you realize that there is an entire root system below that gives the tree stability despite its great size.  It is this root system that keeps this tree firm in the midst of wind, rain, hail, and snow.

Our adversaries are not wind, rain, hail, or snow; instead, our adversaries are philosophies and arguments that lead to error which ultimately wreck havoc on our lives. In order to remain firm and strong in the midst of these philosophies, Paul reminds us of the importance of living a life in union with Christ.

Friend, when your roots are deep in the confidence of your union with Christ, you are not led astray by persuasive arguments and worldly philosophies.  According to Colossians 2:7,

  1. Your roots are in Christ
  2. Your life is built on Christ
  3. You were instructed with regard to Christ
  4. You overflow with thanksgiving due to your walk with Christ.

Focusing on your union with Christ is setting your roots deep and allowing you to remain strong in Christ.

Ask the Lord to help you today to be strong in him regardless of the types of storms that may cross your path.
