Vision of Hope is grateful for our interns, and we see God’s hand in bringing each intern our way with their different gifts to help build up the body of Christ at Vision of Hope. They help keep this program running! We count on our interns to supervise the residents and help disciple them in the day to day activities that happen at Vision of Hope. Interns are the ones on the front lines, interacting with the residents, helping in crisis situations, and being there for the residents to help them apply what they are learning in counseling when they are struggling.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Vision of Hope is always looking for interns to join our team. If you are interested in joining our internship team, please contact Annie Martin, our Intern Coordinator, at amartin@faithlafayette.org.<\/em><\/p>\n Over the next several weeks, we want to introduce our readers to our new interns who joined the team in July. These interns are already making an impact on the lives of the residents as they serve with compassion and excellence.<\/em><\/p>\n Abigail Jackson started serving as an intern at Vision of Hope in July of 2020. She is originally from Muskegon County, Michigan. Abigail likes playing guitar, visits to the beach, and serving others and Christ. She has three younger brothers that she enjoys spending time with. Abigail\u2019s favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 1:8-9 because it keeps her focus less on what she can see and more on what Christ is doing through the unseen.<\/p>\n Abigail heard about Vision of Hope through the BCTC conference. She had met a couple people that brought it up, and she took that as a sign that she should look into it. After researching it and coming for a shadow weekend, she fell in love with the program and knew it was what she wanted to do.<\/p>\n Abigail comments, \u201cI\u2019ve always had a heart for younger girls, especially in their teens who struggle with self-worth\u2014not feeling like they are enough and not having a purpose. Coming to VOH I feel like I\u2019m able to help some of the girls find their purpose and worth in Christ.\u201d Abigail desires to serve the residents and help them understand who they are in Christ.\u00a0 She seeks to gain better experience in how to counsel others and glorify Christ through her words.<\/p>\n After Vision of Hope, Abigail hopes to work with a ministry that could be similar to VOH. She hopes to be able to bring what she learns back to her community and make an impact there. She is excited to learn more about serving others and Christ over the next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
