We had a unique need in May for a part-time intern, and God provided Abby exactly when we needed her! She served for two months to meet that special need and then in July, she fully completed intern training and became a full-time, full-fledged intern.\u00a0 Her flexibility and willingness to jump in and serve when and where needed was a great blessing to our ministry.\u00a0 Hear from Abby about her walk with the Lord and her desire to serve women!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hey there! My name is Abigail Harmon and I am from Lafayette Indiana. I love to sing (especially if it involves harmony), and play my ukulele, flute and piano. The sky never fails to mesmerize me, and I am always up for a night of stargazing! One of my favorite things to do is camp counsel at Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp. <\/span><\/p>\n

I grew up in a Christian family and therefore heard the gospel at a very young age; I believe I made a decision to believe on the Lord during this time. However, I did not have a very intimate relationship with my Savior. When I was 14 years old, I took a road trip with a few friends to South Dakota. During this trip our group decided to play Bible trivia. This was incredibly\u00a0challenging for me! I realized I was so ashamed of my knowledge of the Word of God. But this game was not in vain, God used it to get me to start reading His word on a daily bases! Soon after, I realized that the Bible was truly alive. I learned that it was able to judge the thoughts and intents of my heart. Through spending this time in the Bible, I realized that it is not about what I know, but rather it is about knowing<\/i> my Savior. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How did you hear about the VOH internship? What are you excited to learn and grow in at VOH?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I learned about VOH through the online website. Reading about the internship ignited my interests, as it was clear that interning would allow and enable me to learn and work with women struggling with addictions. Having worked alongside young girls and women in the past, I knew working with women was something that God had placed strongly on my heart. I am looking forward to better understanding the struggles that women go through, and becoming better equipped to minister God\u2019s Word to women battling various addictions. I am excited to learn and grow in loving women with truth and needed confrontation, as I know this is an area in which I need to grow. I am also excited for how God will glorify Himself, and grow my intimacy with Him. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>If we had a fun themed day at VOH, what would you want the theme to be and why?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For a VOH theme night I would love to do a \u201cbe your own barista night\u201d because crafting a cup of coffee always sounds like a good idea!<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
