I am reminded each year as we prepare for our annual Race for Hope of many truths of scripture. This is always a time of encouragement as we see everyone work together to prepare for this event as well as reflect on who God is and how He helps us as we run our daily race.<\/p>\n

One passage of scripture always stands out to me every year as I reflect upon running a race. In the next couple of blogs, we will highlight some great truths from this famous passage: Isaiah 40:27-31<\/p>\n

Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel,<\/strong> \u201cMy way is\u00a0hidden from the\u00a0Lord, and the\u00a0justice due me\u00a0escapes the notice of\u00a0my God\u201d? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the\u00a0Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is\u00a0inscrutable. He gives strength to the\u00a0weary, and to\u00a0him who<\/em>\u00a0lacks might He\u00a0increases power. Though\u00a0youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous\u00a0young men stumble badly, yet those who\u00a0wait for the\u00a0Lord will\u00a0gain new strength; They will\u00a0mount up\u00a0with<\/em>\u00a0wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wow \u2013 what powerful truths are to be found in these verses. First, let\u2019s think about what Israel was struggling with at this time. According to this passage, Israel is feeling as though God has forgotten them and He is no longer involved in their lives. That is something many of us can relate to. Through the very difficult trials of this life, it can be easy to wonder where God is and why He does not seem to be answering our prayers. But, as this passage beautifully reminds us, God IS there! He is mighty and powerful, and He knows what is going on in our lives. Nothing escapes His eye, and unlike us humans who grow tired, He does not grow tired or sleep. He doesn\u2019t grow weary of being involved in our lives or controlling the outcome of each situation \u2013 He is actively as work at all times, and is working for His glory and our good (Rom. 8:28). Those are promises we can cling to when we feel He is far away. Perhaps we cannot yet see the outcome or the point to a trial we are currently facing, but He does, and we can choose to find peace in trusting that He is good, He is there in every circumstance, and He will never forsake us.<\/p>\n
