We get a lot of snow in this part of the country. Being from a bit of a warmer area of the US, I am still amazed each year at the many snowfalls we experience here in the winter months. I\u2019m not naturally a fan of winter, but the snow does remind me of some great biblical truths that are so amazing that they prompt me to be joyful even in the coldest days.<\/p>\n
Isaiah 1:18 states, \u201cCome now, let us reason together, says the\u00a0Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.\u201d<\/strong> With Christmas just around the corner, we hear a lot about the birth of Christ and His humility in coming to earth as a baby. Far too easily does this truth become mundane in our lives and we forget just how amazing the gift of Christ truly is!<\/p>\n Christ gave up everything to come rescue us from our sins. Although He is a part of the Trinity and could have utilized total power here on earth, instead He humbled Himself by coming as a helpless baby, being raised by imperfect earthy parents, and completing the will of His heavenly Father even though He knew it would lead to His agonizing death on a cross. He did this all so that He could become our sympathetic High Priest who has experienced life on this earth \u2013 and all so we could be saved from the wrath of God and live with Him forever in eternity.<\/p>\n This wonderful gift of Salvation is free and attainable for anyone. All we have to do is ask! Psalm 51:7 says, \u201c<\/strong>Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.\u201d<\/strong> Although in our sin we are tarnished and unclean, when we \u201cconfess with [our] mouths Jesus as Lord and believe in [our] hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.\u201d<\/strong> (Romans 10:9, brackets added) When we receive Salvation through Christ, we are washed clean from our sins. God no longer sees us as unrighteous, but rather as covered in the perfect, holy righteousness of Christ!<\/p>\n So now, when I look out at the snow each winter, I can rejoice! The pure white fluff covering this earth is a beautiful reminder of the pure white clean that God has made me; and all because of Christ\u2019s humility and love for us. Praise the Lord with me this winter, and let\u2019s all be reminded of the awesome blessing of Salvation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
