The point of this blog series is to be reminded how the Lord calls us to live as a body of believers, and examine how that would play out in our everyday lives. We hope you have been encouraged and challenged as we have throughout this series.

The next section we will discuss is this:

If I leave Faith Church, I, will, as soon as possible, unite with a church of like faith and order where I can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word. If I cannot find such a church, I will seek, with the Lord’s help, to establish one.

The Bible speaks a lot of unity, and building each other up. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” Galatians 6:2 states, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” And Matthew 18:20 tells us, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” We are called to fellowship and grow together with fellow believers, and gathering as part of a local church body is a great way to do this. In fact, we are commanded to do so: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Clearly, being a part of a local church body is an important aspect of our walk with the Lord.

At Vision of Hope, we seek to help our ladies get plugged into their local church, especially in Phase 3 of our program, where a lady moves out of the Vision of Hope home. Whether she has come from within our own town or is going back home far away, it is important that our ladies find and establish a good connection with a local church. After their time at Vision of Hope has ended and they have graduated our program, it is the local church and body of believers there who will be a huge source of accountability and support that they need to live in victory for the rest of our lives. There are so many blessings of having the biblical authority and protection of pastors and deacons, and we desire for our ladies to be connected with a church where they can learn, serve, connect, be mentored, mentor others, and grow in many other ways.

It is important for every believer to be plugged in with serving, connecting, and growing within a local church. Let’s look for ways we can grow in these areas in our own lives within the church today!

We are excited to continue digging into the aspects of the Faith Church Member Covenant.
