\u201cGrace\u201d is a word that we so often hear from the pulpit and in other church settings. Hearing it so often, it can be easy to let that word fly past our ears and not give it a second thought, but God’s grace is the foundation for our salvation. It is important that we regularly take the time to stop and ponder what grace really means.<\/p>\n
I have heard it said that the word \u201cgrace\u201d can be explained as an acrostic: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Basically, grace is God giving you something you do not deserve. Romans 5:8 &10 states, \u201cbut God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners<\/b><\/i>, Christ died for us. For if while we were enemies<\/b><\/i> we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.\u201d These incredible verses tell us that while we were at our absolute worst<\/i> \u2013 filthy sinners and enemies of God \u2013 He chose to save us by sacrificing His Son so that we could be in a right relationship with Him! We are each deserving of hell, but God chose to make a way for salvation anyway! That’s grace!<\/p>\n
Grace not only affects the life of a believer at the moment of salvation, but it also affect each of us in our daily lives as well. Every breath we breathe, every blessing we receive, and every new day we live is a gift from God that we in no way deserve. And to think that beyond simply giving us breath, God wants a relationship<\/i> with us and desires to use us in His ministry is beyond comprehension! God’s grace is powerful, and we need to daily seek out how we see God’s grace at work in our lives, so that we can praise Him for it.<\/p>\n
In these next few weeks, I will be sharing some of the ways in which our staff, interns, and residents have experienced God’s grace in their lives.
