We have so many creative residents who love to use their talents to express what God is doing in their lives. Sometimes this comes in the form of poetry, and today I would like to share with you a poem written by one of our current residents entitled, Escape<\/em>:<\/p>\n

Escape<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

What does it mean?<\/p>\n

To get away. To run and run and run<\/p>\n

Farther than you’ve ever gone<\/p>\n

Going farther still.<\/p>\n

But do we look back?<\/p>\n

What do we do when we regret what we have done?<\/p>\n

When our escape becomes our focus of worship<\/p>\n

A hideous, menacing god we can no longer control.<\/p>\n

What now?<\/p>\n

When our running leads us nowhere.<\/p>\n

Escape from what? The emptiness inside?<\/p>\n

The darkness that threatens to overwhelm my soul?<\/p>\n

I cannot outrun something that lies within.<\/p>\n

Deeper than I’ve dared to look, but not too deep for a Savior.<\/p>\n
