Vision of Hope also benefits from many donations, like Olive Garden soup Great Harvest Bread, and farm fresh eggs and veggies! Still, a significant amount of Vision of Hope’s budget is spent on providing the necessary food and household items the residents and interns use on a daily basis (like food, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, etc.). So, how can a non-profit afford to pay for all of these things? Aside from generous donations (financially or otherwise), Vision of Hope employs couponing as a savvy savings option, and a great application of biblical stewardship! Here’s the 411:

WHY COUPON? As Jennifer Faulkner wrote in her blog on Biblical Stewardship, “At Vision of Hope, we want residents and staff alike to understand and apply [the] concept of biblical stewardship on a daily basis.” Couponing is just one of the ways Vision of Hope accomplishes this goal. Couponing not only offers a chance to save money, it’s also a chance to teach young ladies to develop wise saving and budgeting habits they can use when they manage their own grocery budgets in the future.

WHEN DO YOU COUPON? While Vision of Hope is collecting coupons round the clock, our main thrust happens Monday afternoons. On Mondays, we spread all our coupons on the long conference room table and begin the process of cutting, cropping, sorting, organizing, and making the coupons ready for use! We have a few volunteers that help us, but most of the work is done by the residents. If you’re coupon savvy, consider joining us!

CAN I HELP YOU COUPON? Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes more than one person to collect and donate coupons! Vision of Hope is only able to save as we get coupons donated to us. If you have any unwanted coupons, would you consider giving them to Vision of Hope? Coupons can be dropped off at Vision of Hope, or right inside Faith Church’s main entrance in the box that says “Coupons for VOH and the food pantry.” Additionally, coupons can be mailed to 5652 Mercy Way, Lafayette, IN. 47905

“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.”

-Proverbs 21:5

At Vision of Hope, our household manager, Janelle, works tirelessly to find the best deals for VOH needs.
