For he\u00a0satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are, of course, first and foremost thankful for the steadfast love of God demonstrated through the life, death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. At FBS, we\u2019re also thankful for our heavenly Father\u2019s wondrous workings in 2019. Our FBS team has collated some of those areas of thanks, and we invite you to celebrate with us, thanking the Lord for His blessings on us in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Celebrating 2019<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful for 28 M.Div.<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/alumni-giving\/graduations\">graduates<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">in 2019.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-231\" src=\"https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20200203094643\/MDiv-Graduation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"115\" height=\"181\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful for 6 MABC<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/alumni-giving\/graduations\">graduates<\/a> in 2019.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that since our launch, we now have 76 M.<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/master-of-divinity\">Div.<\/a> graduates and 44 <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/mabc\">MABC<\/a> graduates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that we currently have 154 MABC students enrolled at FBS.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that we currently have 37 M.Div. students currently enrolled at FBS. Of those 14 are Faith Church interns, and 23 are from other churches locally and around the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that in 2019,<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/faith-bible-seminary-receives-abhe-accreditation\/\">FBS received accreditation<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">from the Association of Biblical Higher Education.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful for our new seminary location at the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/northend\">Northend Community Center<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(NCC). (See President Aucoin\u2019s article below.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that in 2019, we received approval from 26 states (and counting) to educate out-of-state students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that in 2019, through your generous giving, that<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/race-for-hope\">The Race for Hope<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">raised $30,000 for FBS and <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/alumni-giving\/friends-banquet\">The Friends Banquet<\/a> Raised $75,000.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful that in 2019 and into 2020, our FBS professors have published the following <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-232\" src=\"https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20200203094743\/Loving-Your-Community.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"114\" height=\"176\" \/>books:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.faithlafayette.org\/church\/steve-viars-faith-story\/\">Steve Viars<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/bakerpublishinggroup.com\/books\/loving-your-community\/394690\"><em>Loving Your Community: Proven Practices for Community-Based Outreach Ministry<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rpmministries.org\/about\/\">Bob Kellemen<\/a>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Gospel-Centered Marriage Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors<\/em>. And, <em>Gospel-Centered Family Counseling: An Equipping Guide for Pastors and Counselors<\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rob Green and Stephanie Green:<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.faithlafayette.org\/seminary\/4-reasons-why-we-wrote-tying-their-shoes\/\"><em>Tying Their Shoes: A Christ-Centered Approach to Preparing for Parenting<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re thankful for two new FBS professors.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastor Cody Podor, teaching Hermeneutics in our M.Div. program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastor Josh Greiner, teaching in both our MABC and our M.Div. Josh is an FBS M.Div. graduate who is now working on his Ph.D. at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Celebrating and Enjoying Our New Seminary Location: By President Brent Aucoin<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2019, FBS completed our first full year located at the<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithlafayette.org\/northend\">Northend Community Center<\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">(NCC). The location has provided new classrooms, a new library space (The Goode-Smith Theological Library), administrative offices, and intern desks all in the midst of an urban environment. The new location strengthens FBS\u2019s effort in preparing students to boldly engage in biblically-based Christian ministries to build the body of Christ through the development of leadership, discipleship, counseling, and\u00a0<em>community<\/em>\u00a0outreach skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-233\" src=\"https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20200203094949\/RR-NECC-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>As one example of community outreach, the NCC built a large model railroad layout (8 foot X 20 foot) for the holidays. The train display is a traditional Lionel-style design that uses six separate tracks. The trains travel across bridges and through tunnels around a snowy mountain scene. There\u2019s even a high alpine lake that the trains circle, giving the railroad its \u2018Bear Lake Route\u2019 slogan. \u201cBear\u201d is a nickname for Faith\u2019s Senior Pastor\u2019s, Steve Viars, son Drew.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">FBS Alum and NCC director commented, \u201cAs soon as we turned on the first train, people began appearing in the Innovation Corner room to watch them operate. There\u2019s just something about trains that attract people of all ages. What\u2019s been fun is having a number of our young north end neighbors help us complete the scenery on the layout. They\u2019re pretty excited watching the layout begin to take shape.\u201d Faith\u2019s Senior Pastor, Steve Viars, said, \u201cWith Greater Lafayette\u2019s railroad heritage, we thought this would be a fun way for families to celebrate the holidays. We love being a blessing to this great community.\u201d The holiday train display is just one fun way to be a blessing to our neighbors at the Northend Community Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Celebrating a New Role<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-19\" src=\"https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20181008143946\/avatar1539027579-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20181008143946\/avatar1539027579-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/faith-blog-assets.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/20181008143946\/avatar1539027579.png 197w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>We\u2019re excited to announce that as 2019 closes and 2020 launches, our Academic Dean, Dr. Bob Kellemen, is adding a new role\/title at FBS: Dean of Students. Bob will be focusing on ministering to current FBS students as well as FBS alum in the areas of ministry mentoring, ministry placement, personal mentoring\/encouragement, and class\/program advising. (Kirk Fatool will continue his excellent work in these areas as Registrar and Dean of Enrollment Management. Bob will come along side Kirk to supplement FBS\u2019 ministry to our students and alums.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As an example of how desired and beneficial this role is, Bob announced to students that he had two dozen time slots open at the Faith Church BCTC in February. Within 24 hours, all 24 slots were taken.
