I\u00a0simply cannot believe that this is our final week of the 1st Quarter!\u00a0 Our students and faculty face a tremendous challenge this week, but I know we serve a GREAT God and that He wants us to finish and finish well!<\/p>\n
Looking forward at this week, we have a few tremendously important events:<\/p>\n
Four\u00a0juniors will be joining the ranks of Faith’s Honor Society.\u00a0 Members of the Honor Society are selected on the basis of testimony, scholarship, character, service, and leadership.\u00a0 To be considered, a student must have a GPA of 3.3 out of a possible 4.0.\u00a0 A major service that these Honor Society students perform is peer tutoring to other jr. and sr. high students.\u00a0 Tutoring is offered 3 – 4 times throughout the week and is free of charge.<\/p>\n
All sophomores are required to take the PSAT which is given in the fall of each year.\u00a0 The PSAT allows students to become familiar with standardized testing that will be required for admission into college.\u00a0\u00a0Giving students the opportunity to take the PSAT will generally allow them to perform better on the standardized SAT and\/or ACT exams.<\/p>\n
This Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., we have the wonderful opportunity to see and hear from Faith Christian School’s bands, choirs, Faith Ministry Team, and drama team.\u00a0 We are blessed to have a dedicated team of teachers and instructors who love music and love to teach and instruct students.\u00a0 These students have been practicing for roughly 2 months and it is always a joy to listen to our students play and sing and use the gifts that the Lord has given to them.\u00a0 You are not going to want to miss this treat, so I want to encourage you to come out and support our Fine Arts department and enjoy a wonderful evening listening to beautiful music.\u00a0 After the concert, we will be having a Festive Snack bar complete with goodies including Culver’s Frozen Custard.<\/p>\n
This year, the Faith Ministry Team will take their ministry on the road to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and then return through Wisconsin and Chicago.\u00a0 They will be ministering at various churches, ministries, and colleges.\u00a0 The FMT Tour provides young people unique ministry opportunities and experiences that they normally don’t have during their normal week at school.\u00a0 The team will leave at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and return sometime on Tuesday afternoon.\u00a0 The FMT Tour is always a highlight for these young people who have the unique opportunity to serve as ambassadors for Jesus Christ in many exciting ways.<\/p>\n
Yes, the first quarter is coming to an end; but we sure do have a lot of work to do and many great goals to accomplish!<\/p>\n
