Congratulations to all instrumental and vocal students who participated in the recent ISSMA Solo\/Ensemble Festivals at Harrison High.<\/p>\n
All 5-12 Grade Band students were required to participate in an ensemble of 3 or more. Optional Solo opportunities \u00a0included Wind, String, Percussion, Voice and Piano. \u00a0FCS entered\u00a0 21\u00a0 Instrumental Ensembles and 18 Instrumental, Piano, and voice soloists. Students had to prepare a selected musical number and perform for a judge who would evaluate their performance in light of the \u201cgroup\u201d \u00a0(level) in which the student or ensemble \u00a0registered to participate\u00a0 e.g. \u00a0I, II, III, IV, V.\u00a0 \u201cI\u201d being the hardest, and \u201cV\u201d the easiest. \u00a0Once receiving a \u201cgold\u201d rating, students are encouraged to move \u00a0to the next highest level the following year. \u00a0Overall, \u00a0 FCS Students earned a collective 30 Gold and 9 Silver Ratings in their respective categories.
